ClHenry has a genetic disorder that causes him to unexpectedly travel through time. He is drawn to important places over and over again at different times. During one of his repeated trips to the same meadow he meets Clare, a six-year-old girl who befriends him. He keeps coming back as she grows up and becomes an important part of her life. When he’s not traveling he works as a university librarian and when Clare comes in one day looking for a reference book they meet as adults. For him it’s the first time he’s met Clare but for her it’s something she has been waiting for all her life. As expected, Clare and Henry get married and try to make a life together but it’s difficult with him fading in and out as he travels back and forth through time. When he travels he just fades away leaving everything behind including his clothes, he arrives in the new time naked. He doesn’t know where he is and must find clothes causing him to steal so he is often in trouble. At times it makes an interesting conundrum when he lands in a time where he comes in contact with himself, Clare or someone else he knows. When Clare gets pregnant they become concerned thinking the baby may inherit his genes and time travel from the womb. The acting is good but the story goes nowhere. The time travel aspect wears thin fast and it makes absolutely no sense, even in a sci-fi way. It’s not a bad movie it’s just boring and pointless. I didn’t find it romantic or exciting.
