Cliff and Sydney are honeymooning in Hawaii on their way to hike to a secluded beach when they anger a hitchhiking couple. While on the trail they befriend a fellow hiker with a lot of interesting stories and end up detouring with him to a beautiful waterfall where his girlfriend is waiting. They all hit it off and decide to hike the rest of the way together. They soon find out that a honeymooning couple was killed in Honolulu and the police think the killers might be on the same trail. Both couples immediately suspect the other but then the spurned hitchhikers show up. They don’t know if the killers are anywhere nearby but they all get jumpy. Before long the real killers are exposed and the couples have to fight for their lives. This is an effective thriller but it would have been better if the commercials for it had not given away key plot points. I normally don’t try to figure out what is going to happen or, in this case, who the killer is preferring to let the story unfold, unfortunately because of the commercial I knew who the killer was before I sat down in the theatre to see the film. Even so I had a good time watching the terrific cast.
