Actress/comedian Charlyne Yi says she does not believe in love, at least not the fairy tale/Hollywood type of love. Along with her friend and director, Nick, she sets out to make a documentary about love by talking to friends, bikers, romance novelists, scientists, children and random people on the Las Vegas strip. She asks the same question: does true love really exist? She gets some interesting answers. In one of the first scenes she takes her camera to a party at a friend’s house hoping to get some of the quests on camera. While there she meets a boy who seems perfect for her, actor Michael Cera. Their relationship develops on camera as she travels across the country interviewing people. Cera does not seem to be happy about the camera always being there and decides not to accompany her to Paris for more interviews causing a possible rift in the relationship. While it looks and feels like a documentary there are hints that there might scripted moments. In fact, there are some very interesting and entertaining puppet recreations. Whether it’s real or not doesn’t really matter, what matters is that it is entertaining and at times touching.
