Frank is very good at his job but he is depressed, he is a hit man who contemplates suicide after every kill. After shooting a man from the roof of a building he steps on the edge trying to work up the nerve to jump. Kate is leaving the building across the street sees him and screams thinking he is a going to jump. He falls back and runs away but he can identify her. Once the police are called he is afraid she can identify him. When the dead man is discovered the police think that the jumper might be responsible and that Kate can identify him. One of the detectives investigating the case takes a liking to Kate and asks her out. Frank tracks her down but is unable to kill her instead he becoming her friend. Kate is very secretive and has a secret of her own. The relationship of the secretive woman, the amorous detective and the depressed hit man is interesting but it doesn’t go anywhere. The cast is very good but the ending is lacking in resolution.
