Ben finds out that his experimental FBI unit is about to be shut down so he decides to send them on an unauthorized mission to prove their value. The agents manage to get past very heavy security and get the information they need – or so they think. When the new unit director shows up the next morning to shut Ben’s team down he finds out they are guinea pigs – yes, taking guinea pigs that use miniature spy gear, oh and their computer expert is a mole. Even the surprise at his agents being tiny balls of fur doesn’t quell his anger at the unauthorized mission that appears to have been for naught. It seems they may have blown a two year investigation into an industrialist who is plotting something big. Realizing they are in trouble the team manages to escape only to end up in a pet store. The other residents of the rodent section include a manic hamster, a fun loving guinea pig and three hilarious mice. Will they escape from the pet shop and stop the evil plan for world domination? The voices are well done, this are some funny moments but mostly it’s a cute entertaining film for kids. When the evil plan starts to unfold the plot falls apart but it’s still good solid entertainment for children . . . and most adults. You can also see it in 3D, while there are some great 3D moments it was mostly a distraction for me.
