Picking up where “The Order of the Phoenix” ended Draco is coping with his father being arrested and Harry is dealing with the pressure of being ‘The Chosen One’. Harry is convinced that Draco is out to kill him and when he learns that Draco has been given a special assignment by the Dark Lord but, of course, no one believes him. Meanwhile, Dumbledore shows him memories of his first encounter with the student who became Lord Voldemort. Harry is given the task of unearthing a huge secret from the new potions professor and Snape has a connection with Draco’s assignment. Unlike the other films this one is not rushed everything takes place a good pace but there is more suspense than action. We are reminded that Harry and the rest of his classmates are teenagers with hormones and feelings. By the end of this film we know who has feelings for whom and witness relationships flourishing. This is by means a light romance it is possibly the darkest of the Potter films with a major character dying. I must disclose that I have read all the books and am a fan of the movies. If you are a fan of the books you will notice differences. Fans will love this film and I really liked it.
