Robert Langdon is back and the Vatican asks for his help. It looks like an old enemy of the church is back and has kidnapped the four frontrunners to be the new Pope while threatening to destroy the entire city. It all centers around the Illuminati stealing anti-matter created by the Cern Large Hadron Collider and then starts to make even less sense. There is a lot of running around, shooting, explosions and research in what is essentially a guided tour of the Vatican and the surrounding areas. You will know what is going to happen next without trying. There is a twist at the end but it is no surprise. It is slightly better than “The Da Vinci Code” but that’s not saying much.
